INA diesel pile hammer is a self contained impact tool used to drive foundation piles deep into soil or seabed materials. It operates by dropping a heavy ram that compresses air inside the cylinder before fuel is injected and ignited. That ignition forces the ram back upward while gravity brings it down again creating a repeating cycle of powerful impacts that push piles into place.
Unlike modern hydraulic pile systems a diesel pile hammer generates its striking force internally. There are no hydraulic pumps or pressure lines powering the blow itself. The only external support required is a crane or rig to hold and guide the hammer which makes these machines reliable in remote locations and harsh jobsite conditions.
The simplicity of the design is why diesel pile hammers have been used worldwide for decades. Each strike is driven by basic physics combustion gravity and mass rather than complex control systems.
