👀 A simple mosquito bite… can turn deadly. Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by Plasmodium parasites, transmitted through the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito. 🦟 🔬 Once inside the body, the parasite first infects the liver, then enters the bloodstream and destroys red blood cells, leading to serious complications. ⚠️ Common Symptoms: • High fever with chills • Sweating after fever • Headache & body pain • Nausea & vomiting • Weakness & fatigue 🚨 Severe Malaria can cause: • Organ failure • Severe anemia • Confusion or coma (cerebral malaria) 💊 Treatment: Early diagnosis + proper antimalarial drugs can completely cure malaria. Delay can be dangerous. 🛡️ Prevention Tips: • Use mosquito nets • Apply repellents • Avoid stagnant water • Wear full-sleeve clothes 👉 Early detection saves lives. Don’t ignore repeated fever patterns. #explorepage #mednotes #mbbs #malaria #medicalstudents

Follow🎖️Mosquito midgut dissection | Malaria research 🦟🔬 Inside this tiny midgut lies a big story. The mosquito midgut is the first battlefield where Plasmodium survives, multiplies, and decides whether malaria will spread or stop. By carefully dissecting the midgut, researchers can: • Track parasite development (oocysts & sporozoites) • Understand host–parasite interactions • Evaluate transmission-blocking drugs & vaccines • Identify weak links in the malaria life cycle Small dissection. Massive impact. Because controlling malaria starts inside the mosquito. Cc: @bio.cass.ification

🦟 Malaria Awareness: Protect Yourself, Protect Your Community Malaria is a serious and potentially life-threatening disease caused by the Plasmodium parasite, transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. Every year, millions of people around the world are affected, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. Early recognition of symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, nausea, and body weakness can save lives. Timely diagnosis and proper treatment are essential to prevent complications like severe anemia, organ failure, or cerebral malaria. Prevention is the key — use mosquito nets, maintain clean surroundings, avoid stagnant water, and seek medical attention if symptoms appear. Let’s spread awareness, protect our families, and build a healthier future together. Stay safe. Stay informed. Stay protected. Alien life form? 👽 No - it’s a slime mould. It is not really a fungus, and it is not an animal either. It is a myxomycete, with a plasmodium - one giant multinucleate cell. It can move surprisingly fast. In just a few hours, it can spread across large parts of a branch or leaf. The first two clips show Fuligo septica. The last clips show the rarer yellow Stemonitis splendens, also known as the chocolate tube slime mould. The forest is full of things that feel unreal when you stop and look closer. Some researchers suggest that slime moulds show signs of intelligence. I would not be surprised if that were true. What do you think? #slimemould #myxomycetes #weirdnature #forestfinds #macro_world

Midgut dissection of mosquitoes is a key laboratory technique used to study malaria transmission. After a mosquito feeds on infected blood, malaria parasites (Plasmodium spp.) develop inside its midgut before spreading to other tissues. By carefully dissecting and isolating the midgut, researchers can observe parasite stages such as oocysts and study how they interact with mosquito cells. This helps scientists understand parasite development, mosquito immune responses and factors that block or enhance transmission. Midgut analysis is also essential for testing antimalarial drugs, vaccines, and genetically modified mosquitoes designed to interrupt the malaria life cycle. Studying this stage provides critical insight into how malaria spreads—and how it can be stopped. 🎥 Credits - @bio.cass.ification (For educational purposes only) . . . . 🌟MALARIA🌟Plasmodium vivax is the most widespread malaria type across countries. This parasite infects blood reticulocytes preferentially and the parasite burden is usually low in blood (we’re lucky to see a few !) the bad guy (most lethal) is the Falciparum though #malaria #plasmodium #parasite #blood #drbusy
