ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਭਾਵ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਾਂ ਮੁਰੀਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਕਹੇ ਜਾਂ ਦੱਸੇ ਭਾਵ ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਨੋ-ਅਵਸਥਾ, ਆਪਣੀ ਅੰਤਰ-ਹਾਲਤ ਆਖੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਸੁਖਾਵੀਂ ਯਾਦ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਗ ਰੂਪੀ ਰਜਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਉਂਪਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਸਾ ਵੀ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਸ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਭਾਵ ਹੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ! ਆਪ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਜਗਿਆਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਪਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਘੇਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਰੀਵ ਮਨੋਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਾਹਰਮੁਖੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਮਜਬੂਰੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ; ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਖਾਵੀਂ ਯਾਦ ਹਿਰਦੇ ’ਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਰੋਗਤਾ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰੋਂ-ਘਰੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਸੁਖਾਵੀਂ ਯਾਦ ਦੇ ਅਭਾਵ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਹਰਮੁਖੀ ਸੁਖ-ਆਰਾਮ ਰੂਪੀ ਸੁਰਾਹੀ ਵੀ ਬਰਛੀ ਵੱਜਣ ਜਿਹਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਐਸ਼ੋ-ਇਸ਼ਰਤ ਰੂਪੀ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਖੰਜਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਸਾਈਆਂ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿੰਗੁ ਜਾਂ ਬਾਂਕ ਨਾਮਕ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਹੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਰਗਾ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੰਤਲੀ ਪਾਵਨ ਤੁਕ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ’ਚ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਤੇ ਘਾਹ-ਫੂਸ ਆਦਿ ਦਾ ਵਿਛਾਉਣਾ ਹੀ ਭਲਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਤੋਂ ਹੀਣੇ ਤੇ ਬੇਮੁਖ ਖੇੜਿਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਾਡਾ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੱਠੀ ਦਾ ਸੇਕ ਸਹਿਣ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇ ਉਲਟ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸੰਧੀ-ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਹਰ ਹਾਲਤ ’ਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ’ਚ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਡਿੱਗ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੁਰੀਦਾਂ-ਫਕੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਵਕ ਕਰਮ ਹੈ।
