Please note, these are done to a ✨horse✨ stride and will not be the same for a pony! All horses are individual so if you find they’re coming up slightly short or long, don’t be afraid to have a little play around with the distance! . . . Kiki has officially been introduced to polework, there’s no turning back now my girl 😂 (Spon @polyjumps) Her arrival has actually come at a rather good time as the @your.horsemanship tour is about to kick off, and I’m going to be a demo rider at Morton Morrell on the 29th of October. The demo is going to be led by @freddy_steele and Jason Webb, and will be all about getting the most out of our horses in high pressure environments. Something that I’ve really struggled with Winnie this season as we’ve headed to bigger atmosphere events! “This unique tour will focus on the development of young competition horses through horse-centred methods that prioritise equine psychology and physical and mental well-being, and solving common behavioural and ridden issues.“ Essentially perfect timing for me as I begin my journey with baby Kiki, and continue producing Win to try and get to Badders. Tickets are still available, but be quick as they’re selling fast. Can wait to see you all there, will pop a link to tickets in my stories! When I put together a layout for the polework clinics that I run which are based in the UK, it needs to more than just a pretty pattern! I like to build exercises that tests the horses brain, and helps the rider improve how their horse uses its body and reacts to their aids, so each clinic will typically include lines like you see here, but I never repeat the same layout at the same venue! I often use lots of the smaller layouts in my app @poleworkpatternsapp put together to form a bigger clinic layout, so if you’re stuck for ideas on how to improve your horses weak areas by using polework, go and check it out!
