NIMy beautiful opalescent eye
is helping me grow. It’s helping me learn more about myself. It’s inviting me to really “look” more deeply inward to see where I’ve protected myself from things I was afraid to see, and what I’ve been afraid of others seeing.
I’ve always been a “look on the bright side” kind of gal. But what I didn’t realize is how much being in the public “eye” impacted me.
I didn’t realize it because it’s pretty much all I’ve ever known: the pressure to show up on point. The intense fear of letting people down and being abandoned and ridiculed because of it. I didn’t want to see the ugliness of people who had never met me yet threw severe and cruel judgement upon me. And because of that, I didn’t want to see and fully accept the beauty and kindness others offered me because I didn’t trust it.
This is not different than what many people experience. It’s just in a different setting, one that is magnified and exaggerated both on the negative and the positive due to the nature of the business I grew up in.
I’m so grateful that I have a perfect left eye and that the doctors are doing their best. I’m so Grateful for all of you here, sharing the light of love and compassion… “where 2 or more are gathered.” And I’m so grateful for the infinite possibilities in existence that I cannot even fathom.
A master teacher once suggested I switch the statement, “I accept the situation” to “I’m ALLOWing the situation.” For to say “I accept,” is to be in agreement. To say ,”I’m allowing,” is to acknowledge that there are indeed infinite possibilities that exist alongside the now experience.
I’m Leaning in to the infinite unknown. Thank you for leaning in with me as I “allow” the experience of this journey:)
