Surah Maryam 59-61 Tafsir & Reciter: Muhammad Al Luhaidan After Allah mentions the righteous prophets and their followers, He points out that subsequent generations — posterities — came who neglected their prayers (فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُواْ الصَّلَاةَ) and followed their desires (وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ). Because of these things, they will face loss and punishment (Ghayy). But there is hope: except those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds — these will enter Paradise and be wronged in no way. Allah describes the reward: Gardens of ‘Adn (eternal gardens of delight), which the Most Merciful promised to His servants in the unseen. He affirms that His promise is certain and will indeed come to pass. --- Reflections from As-Saʿdī’s Tafsir: Neglect of Prayer: As-Saʿdī stresses that losing the prayer means not observing it properly — delaying beyond its time, being heedless, not being punctual. Prayer is seen as a foundation; when it is lost, the person falls into a chain of decline: desires, comfort, neglect. Repentance and Salvation: The exception clause (“except those who repent…”) offers a powerful message: change is possible. No matter how far someone has fallen, sincere tawbah (repentance), faith, and righteous actions can turn things around. Promise of Jannah: The imagery of Gardens that were promised “in the unseen” emphasizes believing in what you don’t yet see. As-Saʿdī highlights how trusting in Allah’s unseen promise requires patience and hope. Certainty of Allah’s Promise: The phrase “His promise is ever coming/true” (innahu kāna waʿduhu maʾtiyyan) reassures believers — Allah’s promises are never broken.

This post is for posterities sake... A #worldrecord at GLOBAL POWERLIFTING COMMITTEE (GPC) Worlds 2024.... Keeping the faith and working extremely hard for competitions taking place this year 2025. If all goes well, and my sponsors pull through, I'll be breaking records in other federations too. My last yr in Master 3... It doesn't get easier, we just have to work that much harder.🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅 PS... I love the guy, cheering in the background 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Best ever🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Remember I was entirely alone. (A special thank you to the few people who reached out to me, your messages and calls pulled me through.) Remember this category (SAC- #bicepcurls ) took place late on the 4th day of flat out competing. It was super late, cant remember exactly, but I think it was around 21h00. Over a thousand athletes participated at this event...just mind boggling. We had to get up at 5h00 each day, sort food, weigh in by 8h00 EVERY DAY, check flight schedules and calculate by ourselves, our starting times. Then make sure you've warmed up in time, and given one minute only from the time they call your name to get your lift done. This was the rule with every single lift. Super high standards... NO favoritism, no reviews afterwards for reconsideration, or back chat. Take it or leave it. Each night, I'd get back to my hotel around 22h00/23h00...to get up at 5h00 and compete the following day. A huge eye opener, and my nerves just shoot up in anticipation of absolutely everything that needs to be done, from the training, to get there...my visa, funds etc, and beating my own a$$. Keeping the faith and thankful to God every day, not only for the strength but for his love, guidance, and protection throughout my career and life.🙏🏼❤️ Still far to go... we are not done yet. A special #thankyou goes to GPC for putting me in their team.
