EAThe wait of over a year is almost over. Postscript @postscriptrestaurant will be opening its doors very soon, and this one is truly a labor of love.
Owners Amber Donoghue @betterthanitwas and Dean Orr @w.deanorr bring years of experience in the restaurant world, and it shows in every detail. Dean is the chef, and the plates you’ll be eating from? He made them himself. Much of the pottery you’ll see throughout the space is also his work.
And Amber’s touch is everywhere too. From a handcrafted table made of pennies in the main dining room to walls filled with mirrors and meaning—this place is layered with stories. There’s a plaque when you walk in that reads “For Dad, 1985,” artwork by Dean’s father hanging on the wall, and even a “reserved” table tucked in the back with its own story behind it.
It’s the kind of place where almost everything has a reason, a memory, or a person tied to it.
While Postscript will welcome all of Charlotte, the heart behind it is something more personal—a neighborhood restaurant for the east side. Amber and Dean live nearby, just a short walk away, and that connection really comes through.
Amber especially stood out—warm, welcoming and easy to talk to. Dean was just as kind, even if he had to run home to take the dogs out.
This is going to be a special spot for the east side.
And when you go, make sure to ask Amber or Dean how the restaurant got its name.
