Around 508 million years ago, during the Cambrian Period, life existed only in the oceans — simple sea creatures like worms and arthropods thrived beneath the waves. Over millions of years, some of these early animals evolved into fish, which later developed lungs and legs, becoming the first amphibians to walk on land. From them came reptiles, then small mammals that survived the age of dinosaurs. After the dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago, mammals evolved rapidly — and among them, primates appeared around 55 million years ago. From early tree-dwelling primates came apes, which split into different lineages. Around 10 million years ago, the ancestors of gorillas branched off from the shared line that also led to humans and chimpanzees. Over time, they evolved into powerful, intelligent herbivores adapted to Africa’s dense forests. Today’s gorillas are the largest living primates — gentle giants whose lineage began in the ancient seas more than half a billion years ago. #ai #evolution #aievolution #animalevolution #gorillas

Humans did not evolve from the monkeys we see today; rather, humans and modern monkeys share a common ancestor that lived millions of years ago. Through the process of Evolution by Natural Selection, small inherited changes accumulated across generations, favoring traits that improved survival and reproduction. Over roughly six to seven million years, one lineage of early primates gradually developed upright walking, larger brain capacity, refined hand control, and complex social behavior. These adaptations marked the transition through several hominin species — such as Australopithecus and Homo erectus — eventually leading to Homo sapiens. This evolutionary journey explains how humans emerged as a distinct species with advanced cognition, language, and culture, while still retaining biological evidence of our shared primate ancestry.

________ Mais informações: bit.ly/2RhY0Uo #primatas #primate #humano #homosapiens #hominidae #homoerectus #australopithecus #homoneanderthalensis #darwin #neanderthal #human #lucy #homoheidelbergensis #ancestral #evolution #macaco #antropologia #evolução

The "journey of adimanav (early human) to manav (modern human)" refers to the evolutionary process where early hominids, with primitive characteristics, gradually developed over millions of years through natural selection, leading to the emergence of anatomically modern humans with increased cognitive abilities and complex social structures; this journey involved adaptations like bipedalism, larger brain capacity, tool usage, and the development of language, allowing them to thrive in diverse environments.  . . . #space🚀astro #spacex #spacelovers #spaceexploration #universe #sciencefiction #sciencefacts #science #multiverse

🧠🐒 “If We Evolved from Monkeys, Why Are There Still Monkeys?” Here’s the Scientific Answer This question pops up a lot — and it’s totally fair. But the key to understanding lies in how evolution really works. Spoiler: it’s not a straight line. 🔍 Humans didn’t evolve from monkeys — we share a common ancestor. Millions of years ago, there was a now-extinct species that split into different branches: one led to humans, the others to modern monkeys and apes. 🌳 Think of evolution like a tree, not a ladder. Just because one branch grows doesn’t mean the others disappear. Humans and monkeys evolved along separate paths, adapting to different environments. 🧬 We’re still closely related! Humans and chimpanzees share about 98% of their DNA, showing just how closely linked we are through evolution — even if we didn’t come directly from them. ✅ Bottom line: Humans and modern monkeys are like evolutionary cousins. We didn’t replace them — we evolved alongside them, from the same ancient roots. Understanding this helps us appreciate the beauty and complexity of life’s long evolutionary journey. 🌍✨ #EvolutionExplained #HumanOrigins #WeDidntComeFromMonkeys #CommonAncestor #ScienceMythBusting Genetics BiologyFacts TreeOfLife ScienceForEveryone human animals

Australopithecus is a collection of hominin species that span the time period from 4.18 to about 2 million years ago. Australopiths were terrestrial bipedal ape-like animals that had large chewing teeth with thick enamel caps, but whose brains were only very slightly larger than those of great apes. You Were Lied To About Evolution. You didn't evolve from a monkey. Neither did anyone else. The question "if humans came from monkeys, why are monkeys still here" has been used to dismiss evolution for decades. But it's built on a misunderstanding. Evolution isn't a ladder. It's a tree. Humans and chimps share a common ancestor from 6–7 million years ago. We branched. They branched. Both kept evolving. That 98% shared DNA doesn't make them "almost human." It makes us distant cousins. Every species alive today is equally evolved. Stop thinking in hierarchies. Start thinking in branches. Orangutans are part of the great ape family, which includes humans, gorillas, and chimpanzees. The split between the orangutan and human lineages occurred approximately 12 to 16 million years ago. Fossil findings indicate that a shared ancestor of humans and orangutans existed during this timeframe. Notably, fossils such as Gigantopithecus are linked to the orangutan evolutionary lineage, yet the specific common ancestor between humans and orangutans remains unidentified. @theveryextraordinary
Dinopithecus (“terrible ape”) is an extinct genus of very large primates closely related to baboons, that lived during the Pliocene and Pleistocene epochs in South Africa and Ethiopia. It was approximately twice the size of the largest living baboons, with males averaging 46 kg (101 lb) and females 29 kg (64 lb), based on estimates from the molar teeth. In some cases males were estimated to reach in maturity a weight of 77 kg.
