People always ask me: “What did you do differently to get pregnant after 4 losses?” I'll be honest - it wasn't just one thing. I cried. I begged for answers. I decided it couldn't just be that I had the worst luck ever. I decided to control what factors I could: 1. Learn about my body, get the facts. 2. At the time I didn't know that but I learned the signs of inflammation, listened to my body, and made changes. *my daughter was conceived with clomid after years of infertility and loss and my son was spontaneous and in both scenarios I was actively and purposefully making decisions to decrease inflammation (in my case this was also saying goodbye to gluten bc guess what? It made me feel terrible - which I didn't even realize until I eliminated it). It's not that everyone needs to stop gluten, but it's about a proactive approach to your fertility. If you follow me you probably already know I’m very adamant about fertility awareness and education. It’s important whether or not you are trying to conceive. ​​​​​​​​​⁣ ​​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​​⁣ ​​​​​​​​​ ➡️ Sperm can only survive in fertility cervical fluid for up to 5 days. Ovulation is an event that lasts for 24 hours only. After 24 hours, the egg disintegrates and conception is no longer possible. This makes conception possible for 6 days each menstrual cycle. ☝️Of course, if you are trying to avoid pregnancy, you should have a few buffer days before and after your fertile window (with confirming ovulation). 🤰🏻For patients trying to conceive, I typically recommend trying every other day around when you think you may be fertile (the week of your ovulation/when you are starting to notice cervical fluid changes), and definitely the day or your LH surge. Your LH surge can be identified using ovulation predictor kits, which measure Luteinizing Hormone (LH). Ovulation happens 24-36 hours after highest levels of LH. ✨Any questions?
