BLThese are my best tips I can give to anyone starting out with digital lettering on Procreate! This video moves a little fast because I put a lot of good info all in one, so you may have to pause it or read below!
Here are all the tips listed:
1) Sketch and trace as many times as needed. I usually like to sketch, turn the opacity of that layer down, sketch again, then repeat until I get the spacing and letters I want!
2) Turn your streamline up in your brush settings. I’ve gotten many questions about how my lines are so “smooth” and this is the answer! I LIVE by a high streamline setting when it comes to Procreate lettering.
3) Erase the edges of rough letters for a cleaner look! This one isn’t necessary, but it’s a great tip if you’re trying to achieve this certain look.
4) Pick up your pen in between brush strokes! Trust me, when you’re first starting out, DO NOT try to letter all in one.
5) Go slowly!! This is lettering, not cursive, so take your time! This goes along with the last tip too :)

THRepeat pattern tutorial🌸
🌸Create a 12x12 inch canvas. Turn on the drawing guide and set the 2D grid size to Max.
🌸Create a diamond shape and use it as a template. Fill the shape with the desired elements on a new layer.
🌸Duplicate this layer 4 times and hide the original element layer.
🌸 Drag the 4 layers to 4 corners or quadrants. Once done, unhide the original layer
🌸 That’s it. Now you have your repeating pattern ready!

LII love using the diamond method to create repeat patterns on procreate, I feel like it makes things even more seamless! I do this process differently, most tutorials I’ve seen involve drawing a diamond first, this is just what works for me! Hopefully it wasn’t too complicated to understand.
