Hey, I'm Jyoti Goel — ex-Amazon Engineer who cracked 15+ tech interviews including Amazon, Samsung, and Citrix. Amazon interviews aren't about solving 1000 random problems. They test specific patterns. Specific problem types. Over and over again. I failed my first Amazon interview because I prepared everything except what they actually asked. Second time? I analyzed what Amazon tests. Found 10 core problems that cover 90% of their DSA rounds. Mastered those 10. Got the offer. These aren't easy problems. But they're the foundation of every Amazon coding round: → Arrays & Strings → Trees & Graphs → Dynamic Programming → System-level thinking Once you solve these 10 deeply, you'll recognize the pattern in almost any problem Amazon throws at you. Start reading one article a week. Your future self will thank you. Here’s another Amazon-favourite DSA problem you can use for your reel caption 👇 Longest Substring Without Repeating Characters 🔥 Problem: Given a string s, find the length of the longest substring without repeating characters. Example: s = "abcabcbb" Output → 3 ("abc") 1️⃣ Brute Force • Generate all substrings • Check if characters are unique ⏱ Time: O(n³) (Not practical) 2️⃣ Better Approach (Sliding Window) 🚀 Idea: Use two pointers + set/map to maintain a valid window Steps: Take two pointers left = 0, right = 0 Expand window by moving right If duplicate found: Move left until duplicate is removed Keep updating max length Optimized Version (HashMap) ⚡ • Store last index of characters • Jump left pointer directly ⏱ Time: O(n) 💾 Space: O(n) Why Important 💡 • Core concept: Sliding Window • Asked in companies like Amazon, Adobe, Uber • Helps in string + optimization problems 💬 Tip: Whenever you see substring + no repetition → think Sliding Window Tags: #dsa #amazoninterview #leetcode #coding #developers
