The rain is relentless—and so are these two. Keisuke vs Wataru returns for the showdown they never finished. After their unfinished clash in Second Stage, Wataru promised he’d challenge Keisuke again. And now, deep in Saitama, he finally gets his moment. Wataru reveals his new weapon: a supercharged 4A-GZE, ditching his old turbo for smoother, more controlled power—perfect for a storm-soaked Maze Pass. And with that confidence, he fires a shot at Keisuke, calling him “rich boy,” a reminder of the grudge he’s held since day one. But Keisuke isn’t who he used to be. After his battle with Kyoto, he’s mastered a precise throttle control technique, allowing him to keep constant pressure even in brutal low-grip conditions. His turbo 13B may be aggressive and unpredictable, but now he can tame it with discipline instead of raw instinct. The first uphill run ends with no clear result. The rain intensifies, exhaustion sets in, and both drivers refuse to yield. This isn’t just horsepower vs horsepower—it's pride, improvement, and a rivalry finally reaching its breaking point. #InitialDCapsule #InitialD #Takumi #TakumiFujiwara #ProjectD #BuntaFujiwara

Project D is a professional street racing team formed in the later stages of Initial D. It’s created and led by Ryosuke Takahashi, who wants to build the ultimate downhill and uphill drivers and document their growth. The “D” officially stands for “Dream,” symbolizing the pursuit of becoming the fastest through discipline and strategy. Project D isn’t a random street crew. It’s structured. Ryosuke handles strategy, data analysis, course research, and race planning. Every battle is calculated — tire selection, weather conditions, elevation differences. Nothing is left to chance. The core drivers are: Takumi Fujiwara — downhill specialist in the AE86 Keisuke Takahashi — uphill specialist in the RX-7 FD Instead of defending a single mountain like earlier teams, Project D travels across different regions to challenge top local drivers. Each race becomes a test of adaptability, not just familiarity. Project D represents evolution. From raw street battles To organized, purpose-driven competition It’s where Takumi stops racing by accident and starts racing with intention. Less ego. More growth. More pressure. Project D isn’t about protecting pride. It’s about chasing mastery. #projectd #initiald #rx7 #ae86 #touge

The Kanagawa scouting team thought they had Project D completely figured out, but they fell right into Ryosuke’s trap. It’s funny how the Kanagawa team wasted their time recording Keisuke’s lap times when it didn’t even matter. This was their big strategy to defeat Keisuke. They built Go Hojo’s Honda NSX to be 15 seconds faster than Keisuke and his Mazda RX-7 FD3S based on the numbers they have been gathering throughout the entire Kanagawa expedition. But Ryosuke is the ultimate strategist. He had Keisuke run specific lap times on Akagi during training. The manga states that Keisuke actually did 100 of those special practice runs per week for four months straight to the point where he can match those times better than Ryosuke could even at his peak. Keisuke was secretly holding back and still winning the battles during the entire expedition to deliberately feed Kanagawa false data. The absolute shock on Go Hojo’s face was hilarious when he couldn’t outrun Keisuke on that first run. This battle shows Keisuke at his final form. Back in the First Stage, Ryosuke said that if Keisuke combined his naturally gifted driving with theory, he would be the ideal driver. Throughout the Kanagawa expedition, Keisuke has shown that he has become exactly that. Fast forward about 20 years to the MF Ghost era. Keisuke explains to his student Sena Moroboshi that the essence of Gunma Pride is a system of techniques for pressing the accelerator. He clearly mastered that skillset by the finale of Initial D. The Miata vs AE86 downhill race happens in Fourth Stage during Project D’s challenge against Todo School. The Miata is an NA Roadster driven by Satoshi Omiya — a technically trained, grip-focused driver. Unlike many earlier opponents, Omiya comes from a structured racing background. His style is precise, efficient, and textbook clean. The NA Miata fits that perfectly. Lightweight. Balanced. Minimal power. Maximum corner speed. On paper, it’s almost a modernized reflection of the AE86’s philosophy. Both cars rely on momentum, weight transfer, and maintaining speed through corners rather than brute horsepower. That’s what makes the race so compelling. It’s not turbo surge versus underdog grit. It’s not horsepower versus technique. It’s refinement versus adaptability. Omiya drives by the book. His lines are calculated and consistent. But Takumi has something different — dynamic adjustment. Years of mountain repetition allow him to subtly alter his approach mid-run when conditions or pacing shift. Downhill, tiny differences matter. Brake pressure. Entry angle. How early throttle is fed back in. The emotional tension comes from how close the cars are in capability. The NA Miata isn’t outmatched. It’s competitive the entire way. But Takumi’s instinctual ability to evolve within the race gives him the edge. It’s one of the purest technical battles in Initial D. No gimmicks. No huge power gaps. Just two lightweight FR cars and two drivers testing who understands the downhill better. #ae86 #miata #initiald #projectd #touge

Ryosuke Takahashi is one of the most strategic and respected drivers in Initial D. Known as the “White Comet of Akagi,” he drives a Mazda RX-7 FC3S and approaches racing like a science. While many racers rely on instinct or emotion, Ryosuke studies data, tire wear, elevation changes, and opponent psychology. He doesn’t just race the car — he analyzes the entire situation. What makes him different isn’t raw aggression. It’s calculation. He rarely wastes movement. His lines are clean, deliberate, and efficient. Even when pressured, he stays composed. That calm presence makes him intimidating — not because he’s loud, but because he already has a plan. Later in the series, he forms Project D. Instead of focusing on his own dominance, he shifts into leadership. He builds a structured team, researches courses ahead of time, and designs strategies for Takumi and Keisuke. He becomes more architect than racer. Ryosuke represents evolution. From talented street racer To disciplined tactician To mentor chasing a bigger vision He proves that speed isn’t just about courage. It’s about understanding. And mastering both the road and yourself. #initiald #jdm #projectd #rx7 #touge

Takumi blows his engine twice in Initial D, and each moment means something completely different. The first time, against Kyoichi Sudo, marks the beginning. He pushes beyond his limits for the first time, and the engine fails. But it leads to growth — the new TRD engine and a more serious approach to racing. The second time, against Shinji Inui, marks the end. The AE86 has been pushed to its absolute limit over the entire series, and it finally gives out. This time, it’s not about leveling up. It’s about closure. The first engine failure starts his evolution. The second ends the AE86’s journey. #ae86 #initiald #takumifujiwara #projectd #touge Credit: itsyourboi_uhh (Tictok)

True… follow @eightysix_media.group Takumi Fujiwara’s final race in Initial D happens near the end of the Project D era, when he faces Shinji Inui on Mount Tsubaki. Shinji drives another Toyota AE86, which makes the race symbolic. For the first time, Takumi isn’t racing against a more powerful machine or an experienced rival. Instead, he’s facing someone who mirrors his own past — a young driver who developed incredible skill simply by growing up on the same mountain road. Shinji’s driving style feels strangely familiar. Like Takumi in the early days on Akina, Shinji doesn’t rely on complicated theory or aggressive tactics. He drives naturally, almost instinctively, flowing through the corners with a rhythm that comes from knowing the road better than anyone else. This makes the race deeply psychological. Takumi realizes he’s essentially racing the kind of driver he once was. Shinji represents the next generation — someone who grew up the same way Takumi did, building instinct through repetition rather than formal racing experience. During the race, Takumi’s AE86 begins to struggle mechanically. Years of pushing the car to its limits start to show. Despite that, he keeps fighting, determined to finish the race and uphold Project D’s undefeated record. In the end, Takumi wins by a narrow margin. But the victory doesn’t feel like domination. Instead, it feels like a passing of the torch. Takumi sees in Shinji the same raw talent and connection to the road that once defined him. That’s what makes the final race meaningful. It isn’t just about winning one more battle. It’s about recognizing that the spirit of mountain racing will continue long after Project D finishes its journey. #initiald #takumi #ae86 #projectd #touge

Racing with your bro on a backroad hits different. It’s not always about proving who’s faster. It’s about the unspoken understanding. The late-night meet-up. The headlights cutting through the dark. That quiet moment before someone says, “You lead.” There’s something raw about it. No crowd. No trophies. Just two cars, two drivers, and a stretch of road that feels like it belongs to you for a few minutes. Every pull out of a corner, every shift, every brake tap — you feel it in your chest. That feeling is exactly what Initial D captures. It’s not just competition. It’s connection through driving. Like Takumi and Keisuke pushing each other during Project D, the rivalry isn’t built on hate — it’s built on growth. You race your friend not to embarrass him, but to sharpen him. And he does the same for you. On a backroad, when you’re both in sync, it almost feels like a conversation without words. You see his brake lights flicker — you know he’s setting up for the corner. He hears your engine hold revs — he knows you’re committing. It’s trust. It’s pressure. It’s respect. Initial D romanticizes that exact energy. The mountain at night. The echo of engines. The idea that the road reveals who you really are behind the wheel. It’s not about being reckless. It’s about chasing that perfect run — together. #initiald #touge #jdm #projectd #carculture
