Going beyond Umling La - The Project Himank of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has set another world record by completing a motorable road across the Mig La pass (on the Likaru - Mig La - Fukche alignment) in eastern Ladakh. The Mig La road is now recognised as the highest motorable pass on the planet. At an altitude of around 19,400 ft, this newly laid road connects the border village of Fukche near the Indo-China border and surpasses the previous record held by Umling La (19,024 ft), which was also built by BRO.
