SPIt’s a wrap. This is my final submission. (Audio on)
Building my first rig in Unreal using Control Rig was definitely a mind-blowing experience.
We just finished the Epic Unreal Engine Rigging Workshop.
Talking about my submission, we had two weeks to learn from scratch and build a rig or piece that demonstrates what we learned.
I handled modeling and kitbashing, UVs, texturing, rigging, and animation. It wasn’t a requirement to do all of that, but I wanted to push myself to better understand the potential of the workflow in a simple production setup, testing the power of upgrading the rig as new needs came up during animation, dynamics, joint positioning, weight painting, features in general, and so on.
Rigging and animation were done entirely inside Unreal with native tools.
