DISharing knowledge is one of the most powerful ways to grow both individually and collectively.
Today, I had the privilege to take part in the Team Building program an initiative led by our Production Superintendent within the Kaombo Norte FPSO project, located in Block 32 offshore Angola and operated by SAIPEM.
Together with my colleague Tomás, we presented a key topic for the production process: Pumps, with a special focus on the centrifugal pump, one of the most critical pieces of equipment to ensure stable flow and efficient operation.
It was a fantastic experience of knowledge sharing and technical discussion, where we exchanged ideas with more experienced colleagues and explored various operational scenarios, failure responses, and best practices in operation and maintenance.
Special thanks to our Superintendent for promoting this initiative and encouraging a culture of continuous learning.
Each session like this reminds us that true growth happens when we learn together. 💡

PRGood solutions start with clear problems and a deep understanding of what you’re actually solving. 🎯
And I absolutely agree.
In a world that is constantly evolving with new tools, new technologies, and new possibilities 🚀, it’s easy to become obsessed with solutions but as a product manager or product builder, you have to be more obsessed with the problem than the solution.
You see when you fixate on a solution too early / too much, it becomes restrictive.
You start trying to force the problem to fit your idea, instead of letting the problem guide what should be built.
And most times, that leads to solutions that feel impressive… but don’t quite fit. 🤔
Take this video for example.
A simple ladder works not because it’s the most innovative option,
but because it fits the context of the problem.
The book is wayyyy out of reach.
I’m on my own.
I’m in a quiet library.
So the ladder just makes sense. 🪜
Now, could a stick work? Maybe.
But that depends on the context.
If the distance isn’t too much,
if I can control it well enough,
if I can catch the book before it falls…
Then yes, it might work.
But in this situation, it introduces more risk than value.
And that’s the point.
The “best” solution is not universal.
It’s contextual.
Because user problems are rarely black and white.
They’re shaped by context, constraints, environment, and behaviour.
And if you don’t take the time to understand that, you risk building something that solves the wrong thing… in the wrong way. ⚠️
