Can psychoanalysis ever fully separate itself from the narrative forms it seeks to interpret? In this excerpt from a broader seminar, Professor Peter Rudnytsky considers how literature and psychoanalysis intersect, not simply as parallel disciplines but as mutually informing practices. The analyst, like the writer, constructs meaning through attention to language, structure, and omission. This is one moment within a longer, two-hour conversation available to members of Let’s Talk Psychoanalysis. The work of analysis unfolds over time, through sustained dialogue rather than isolated insight. Membership offers a space for that ongoing exchange: https://www.letstalkpsychoanalysis.com/join #Psychoanalysis #NarrativeTheory #ClinicalReflection

Can psychoanalysis be understood as both art and discipline? In this excerpt, Professor Peter Rudnytsky explores the artistic dimensions of analytic work. This is part of a longer seminar available to members of Let’s Talk Psychoanalysis. Psychoanalysis evolves through dialogue between structure and creativity. What happens when Freud is no longer the only voice in the room? Winnicott. Klein. Bion. Each brings a different way of hearing the patient—different assumptions about development, dependency, and the meaning of distress. But these theories don’t neatly align. They create tension. And that tension, over time, becomes part of the analyst’s internal dialogue. At Let’s Talk Psychoanalysis, this kind of ongoing engagement is not incidental—it’s the work itself. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of presenting work across different platforms dedicated to psychology, research, and mental health. 🎤 TEDx Ooty (2024) – Five Fingers Make a Fist: A talk for adolescents and the student community at Good Shepherd School. 📊 FLAME University, Pune (2025) – Poster presentation on a systematic review examining psychological and environmental determinants of student wellbeing. 🧠 CAMCON 1.0, NIMHANS Bangalore (2026) – Presentations exploring evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for behavioural addictions and a two-stage framework for trauma-addiction treatment. Each platform has been a meaningful opportunity to contribute to ongoing conversations in psychological research and clinical practice. #therapy #adolescence #emotionalhealth #counselling #psychologist

For about a year now, our therapist Jason Vrusho has been leading a weekly creative writing workshop at CRR, paired with an open mic competition twice each month. What started as a simple idea—putting pen to paper and giving people a space to share—has become something much more powerful. One of the most meaningful moments for us is hearing someone say, “I’ve never written anything in my life… and now I consider myself a writer.” David F. was one of those people. When he first walked through our doors, he had never written a poem before. By the end of his stay, he was writing multiple poems a day and routinely sharing them with the community that had become his audience. His poem, “One Day at a Time,” is one of those pieces. We’re proud to share it with you now 💙 . . #poetry #creativewriting #inspiration
