MAThe grand finale to our haunted library escape room! One of my favorite elements of the room was finding books with cool titles that we could use to create a magic spell. To escape, our guests would have to chant it out loud, and if they got it right, the girls.(a.k.a. the ghosts) would jump out of their closet and celebrate. 🎉

All in all, this was definitely one of my all-time favorite homeschool projects that we did together. Puzzles, crafts, problem-solving, storytelling, logic, & MORE! 10/10 would recommend.

The best part of our haunted library was that I have one cabinet the girls could both hide in, so when people came to do the room, they would dress up like ghosts and wait for someone to open the cabinet then jump-scare them. 👻

CRAn escape room in a nutshell: The game of figuring out how to play the game. There are no instructions, just a room full of things you have to make sense of...and it's thrilling! Highly recommend. Support your local escape rooms.

Okay first of all my 30 is done and I'm playing catch up with editing!!
But I was always scared I'd be bad at escape rooms and would fail lmao which did come true... BUT that didn't stop me from trying again and slaying it! 💜

You walk into a room and instantly think:
“Yep… I know exactly what that’s going to do.”
After playing 100 rooms, we started spotting the same tropes over and over again.
Welcome to escape room déjà vu.
🕰 If there’s a clock → it’s either the timer or a clue
🔥 If there’s a fireplace → you’re probably crawling into it
🗄 If there’s an armoire → there’s a secret panel somewhere
⚰ If there’s a coffin → it’s opening or shaking at some point
🧲 If there’s a magnet → it’s part of a puzzle
🔤 If there’s a letter lock → it’s a real word tied to the theme
💀 If there’s a skeleton → check the pockets or bones
💡 If lights are blinking → it’s a code
Spotting the tropes is honestly half the fun.
