The reason I love the Quad Cortex so much (and all-in-one modelers in general) is because of the ability to finely adjust each part to the song. I’ve always been obsessed with matching the original tones of the recording as much as possible. I’m well aware there are pros and cons to this approach, but doing this over the years has been an invaluable tool for ear training that’s served me well. WASHED was a blast to dive into on the QC because I was able to adjust things like the Amps Gain per Scene. For the Clean stuff, I turned the Amp Gain down to -10 and raised the Volume to 8. The differences in verb settings between Tone 3 and 5 are wild. So many adjustments were made to each verb and delay parameter. Sure, you can make presets with hardware verbs like the BigSky (and I do), but doing it on a modeler like this is so much faster and then it’s saved in that song preset forever. The sheer convenience of all-in-one units is near impossible to beat. What’s the funnest song you’ve dialed in the tones for? @elevationworship @elevation.rhythm @e__edwards (You’re a gift bro 🫶🏼) P.S. Yes, I realize the “Clean” tone E uses must utilize some kind of Roland Jazz Chorus or Console type of “amp” for that PURELY clean tone. I’m just using my AC30 and Prosonic here for convenience but if you wanted to nerd out a little more on that clean tone, there are better amp options I’m sure. P.S.S. Pickup selection matters a ton when dialing in this stuff on an SSS Strat. Pay close attention to that. I use the middle pickup more than I usually do.
