Google just announced a crazy new quantum computing chip. It can solve a problem in 5 minutes that would take one of the fastest supercomputers 10 septillion years! BUT that problem was a “benchmark” problem called RCS, chosen specifically because it’s extremely hard for a supercomputer - which are still better at basically everything practical. The real reason you should care about quantum computers and this new chip is less about beating supercomputers at things they’re already great at and more about doing new things - like really accurate simulations of nature at a quantum level that could be used for drug discovery or battery development or more. This new chip matters for how we might get there. Here’s why… If you want to know more about the real future of quantum computing, Marques and I made a longer video! 🚀 Quantum AI Explained: The Future of Supercharged Intelligence! 🤯 📄 YouTube Description: 🌟 Quantum AI is revolutionizing computing as we know it! But how does it work? 🤔 In classical computing, we rely on 0s and 1s, testing millions of possibilities to find the best solution. But with Quantum AI, we unlock new dimensions of computing power, using qubits and quantum tunneling to reach solutions instantly. 💡 What does this mean? •Instead of checking every option, Quantum AI jumps straight from solutions space to solutions space to find an optimal answer ⚡ •It uses entanglement and superposition to store far more information than classical bits •AI optimization becomes faster, smarter, and more powerful than ever before 🧐 Could Quantum AI be the biggest breakthrough in artificial intelligence? 👇 Drop your thoughts in the comments! Do you think this technology will change the world?🚀 #QuantumAI #ArtificialIntelligence #QuantumComputing #AIRevolution #DeepLearning #FutureTech #TechExplained

Quantum computers can solve certain complex problems faster than classical systems by using quantum search algorithms. Instead of checking possibilities one by one, these algorithms use quantum superposition and interference to narrow down correct solutions more efficiently. For large search spaces, this can reduce the number of required steps compared to traditional methods. This advantage applies to specific problem types and highlights how quantum computing can complement classical computing.

April 1st - my grandma’s bday. Dedicating this reel to her. She doesn’t have smartphone w internet, so I can’t call from Brasil to Russia. Happy birthday, grandma, babushka, 74yo she turns today 🥳 The CNOT (Controlled-NOT) gate is a fundamental two-qubit gate in quantum computing. It flips (applies an X gate to) the target qubit if and only if the control qubit is in the state |1⟩. In matrix form, as I presented. CNOT is crucial because, together with single-qubit gates, it forms a universal set — any quantum computation can be built from them. The CNOT gate was introduced in the early formulations of quantum logic circuits in the 1990s, notably in the work of Barenco, Deutsch, and others. It mirrors classical reversible computing (like the XOR gate) but operates coherently on superpositions — enabling entanglement. Applications • Entanglement creation: Applying CNOT after a Hadamard on the control qubit generates a Bell state. • Quantum algorithms: Used in circuits for Shor’s algorithm, Grover’s search, quantum error correction, etc. • Quantum teleportation and communication: Core component of transferring quantum information. Hardware Realization: Cold Neutral Atoms In cold neutral atom systems, atoms (like Rb or Cs) are trapped in optical tweezers or lattices and manipulated with lasers. To implement a CNOT: 1. Qubit encoding: The |0⟩ and |1⟩ states are stored in hyperfine levels of an atom. 2. Control mechanism: Use Rydberg blockade — when one atom is excited to a Rydberg state, it shifts the energy levels of nearby atoms, preventing their excitation. 3. Gate sequence: A typical CNOT involves: • Exciting the control qubit to a Rydberg state (if it’s |1⟩). • Applying a conditional rotation (e.g., X) on the target qubit depending on the presence or absence of blockade. • De-exciting the control qubit. This Rydberg-mediated interaction enables fast, high-fidelity two-qubit gates suitable for scalable quantum systems. #fyp #science #physics #theoreticalphysicist #quantumphysics #theoreticalphysics #quantum #math #quantummechanics #quantumcomputing #womenintech #womeninstem #victoriaporozova #vquantpost

Quantum entanglement is a physical phenomenon where two particles interact in a special way and become linked by a shared quantum state. After entanglement, the properties of one particle—such as spin or polarization—are directly correlated with the other, even when separated by large distances. Measuring one particle instantly fixes the outcome of the other, not by sending signals, but because their states are described by a single quantum system. Entanglement can only form under highly controlled conditions and is extremely fragile; interactions with the environment quickly destroy it through decoherence. It is a fundamental feature of quantum mechanics and has real applications in quantum computing, cryptography, and teleportation. #space #universe #Physics #QuantumPhysics
