When two objects appear to touch, no direct contact occurs at the atomic level. Atoms are mostly empty space, consisting of a dense nucleus surrounded by an electron cloud. When your hand approaches a surface, the electrons in both materials begin to interact through electromagnetic forces. Because electrons carry the same negative charge, they strongly repel each other. This repulsion creates a force that prevents atoms from occupying the same space. What we perceive as “touch” is actually the resistance created by these electromagnetic interactions. Quantum mechanics reinforces this effect through the Pauli exclusion principle, which prevents electrons from occupying identical quantum states. This ensures that matter maintains its structure and does not collapse into itself. What feels like physical contact is, in reality, a balance of invisible quantum forces maintaining separation. Does knowing this change how you think about something as simple as touch? Follow @gs.techverse for engineering and physics insights that reshape how you see reality. Science proved THIS changes reality ⬇️ ㅤ In the Double Slit Experiment, particles don’t behave like solid matter until they’re observed. Before observation, they exist as probabilities. The act of observing collapses those probabilities into a single outcome. This isn’t philosophy - it’s measured PHYSICS. ㅤ Your brain works the same way. Your subconscious attention acts as the observer, constantly collapsing one version of reality out of many possible ones. When your focus is trained on threat, lack, or resistance, that’s the timeline that keeps rendering. ㅤ The Delayed Choice Experiment went even further, showing that observation can influence outcomes backward in time. Which explains why, when your internal state shifts, past events suddenly make sense differently and opportunities appear where nothing existed before. ㅤ You’re not manifesting incorrectly. You’re observing consistently. Change the observer, and the reality being rendered has no choice but to change with it. ㅤ Follow @pagetkagy to train the observer that shapes your reality ✨ ㅤ #quantumphysics #observereffect #doubleslitexperiment #timelineshift #selfconcept #identityshift #scienceandmind

The colors we observe here are the result of a well-defined atomic process. Each noble gas has its own distinct atomic structure and electron configuration, which limits electrons to specific energy levels. When an electric current is applied, it transfers energy to the electrons, causing them to move up to higher, unstable energy states. This condition is temporary, so the electrons soon return to their original, lower energy levels. During this return, the excess energy is released in the form of light. Since the spacing between energy levels is different for each element, the emitted light also differs in character. As a result, every gas produces its own unique light signature, visible as a specific and identifiable color. Reposted from: @hookean1

Explanation 👇 For decades, astronomers believed a collision between the Milky Way and Andromeda was an absolute certainty. However, the latest research from 2025 and 2026 has shifted this view significantly. The Timeline: When will it happen? According to the most recent data from the Gaia spacecraft and Hubble Space Telescope, the timeline and certainty of the collision are as follows: • Original Prediction: A “head-on” collision in about 4 to 4.5 billion years. • Revised 2025/2026 View: Recent simulations suggest the collision is no longer a “sure thing.” There is now estimated to be a 50-50 chance of a collision occurring within the next 10 billion years. • If it happens: If the galaxies do merge, the process will take billions of years, eventually forming a new, giant elliptical galaxy often nicknamed “Milkomeda.” The “Why”: Gravitational Attraction The reason these two massive galaxies are moving toward each other is simple: Gravity. 1. Mutual Attraction: While the universe is expanding and pushing most galaxies away from each other, the Milky Way and Andromeda are part of the same “Local Group.” They are close enough (about 2.5 million light-years apart) that their mutual gravitational pull overcomes the expansion of space between them. 2. Radial Velocity: Andromeda is currently hurtling toward us at approximately 400,000 kilometers per hour (roughly 250,000 miles per hour). 3. The “Spoiler” Effect: The recent shift in certainty (the 50% chance) comes from better accounting for the gravitational influence of other nearby “satellite” galaxies, like the Large Magellanic Cloud and the Triangulum Galaxy. These smaller neighbors pull on both the Milky Way and Andromeda, which could potentially nudge them onto paths that lead to a near-miss rather than a direct hit. Explaination ⬇️ Rutherford’s alpha scattering experiment (1909), conducted by Geiger and Marsden under Ernest Rutherford, involved directing a beam of high-energy alpha particles (helium nuclei) at an ultrathin gold foil and observing their deflection on a fluorescent zinc sulfide screen. According to the prevailing “plum pudding” model, only small deflections were expected; however, while most alpha particles passed through with minimal deviation, a small fraction were scattered at large angles, and some were reflected backward. Rutherford concluded that nearly all the atom’s mass and positive charge must be concentrated in a tiny, dense central nucleus, with the rest of the atom being mostly empty space—fundamentally overturning earlier atomic models and establishing the nuclear model of the atom. Visualizing The Schrodinger Equation In Action! Ever wondered how electrons behave as both particles and waves? This visualization demonstrates the fascinating world of quantum mechanics through an electron diffraction grating simulation. Watch as the wave packet interacts with the grating, creating a complex diffraction pattern that illustrates the probability density of the electron's position. We break down the math using the Schrodinger Equation and the probability density function P(x,y,t). #QuantumPhysics #SchrodingerEquation #Physics #QuantumMechanics #Manim

Modern physics is full of ideas that stretch our imagination. Some concepts like the Higgs Field, Antimatter, and Spacetime Curvature have been experimentally confirmed, shaping our understanding of reality. But others like String Theory, the Multiverse, and Quantum Gravity remain fascinating possibilities that scientists are still trying to prove. The universe still holds many secrets, and the next discovery could completely change how we understand space, time, and existence itself. What are you choosing to create in your next 80ms? Did you know you aren’t actually living in the present? Neuroscience confirms an 80ms biological lag between the world happening and your brain perceiving it. Your mind “buffers” reality to keep your senses in sync. But this is where it gets deep: In that tiny sliver of time, Bio-lag meets the Observer Effect. If reality hasn’t been “rendered” by your consciousness yet, are you really just a witness? Or is that 80ms gap the space where you—as the Observer—collapse infinite possibilities into a single experience? You aren’t just reacting to what happened. You are deciding what happens next. What are you choosing to create in your next 80ms? #QuantumPhysics #ObserverEffect #Consciousness #ScienceReels #QuantumMechanics

Explaination ⬇️ “This happens because the Earth is a sphere, but maps like the Mercator projection flatten it onto a 2D surface. To preserve angles for navigation, distances and sizes get distorted—especially near the poles, where regions appear stretched. So even though two paths may look similar or misleading on a flat map, their actual distances on the curved Earth can be very different.” Follow @quantum_explains for more. @asteriontalks
At the deepest physical level, nothing you touch ever truly makes contact. Atoms are composed mostly of empty space, with a dense nucleus surrounded by a diffuse cloud of electrons governed by quantum mechanics. When your hand approaches a table, the electron clouds of the atoms in your skin and the atoms in the table begin to overlap—not physically collide, but interact through electromagnetic forces. Because electrons all carry the same negative charge, they strongly repel each other via Coulomb’s law. This repulsion increases rapidly as the distance between electron clouds shrinks, creating a force that resists further compression. What your nerves interpret as “solid contact” is actually this electromagnetic pressure pushing back against your hand. Quantum mechanics adds another critical rule: the Pauli exclusion principle, which forbids electrons from occupying the same quantum state. As electron wavefunctions attempt to overlap, this restriction generates an additional quantum pressure that reinforces the repulsion. Together, electromagnetic forces and quantum exclusion create the rigidity of matter. So when you press your hand against a surface, you’re not feeling atoms touching—you’re feeling fields interacting, governed by quantum rules that prevent matter from collapsing into itself. Touch is not contact; it’s a finely balanced force interaction written into the fabric of reality. #asteriontalks #QuantumPhysics #ElectromagneticForces #PauliExclusion #ScienceExplained
