Big stitch binding might be my favorite part of the entire quilting process. After the cutting, pressing, piecing, and quilting…this is where everything slows down. Hand stitching the binding on this #scrappystarlightquilt feels like an exhale. One stitch at a time. No rushing. No noise. Just thread, fabric, and quiet rhythm. I have a friend/client who I’ve done several quilt for and a this time around she said “I have this fabric (a five yard bundle, and two charm packs with one yard of coordinating fabric) that I love and don’t know what to do with, make whatever you want from it!” These are the two quilts I made with the fabric and I love them! I was starting to feel so constrained by needing to find an audio that would do well with the algorithm but I am so over it. Give me more suggestions!
