GASo many incredible gatherings hosted on the Gather app this month. I’ve met so many beautiful people. And with the help of this app, I’ve managed to form a queer community in London in only a couple of months. And I’m not exaggerating. I visited London every year for the last 10 years and I used to live here. And I was never able to form a community like this. Sure I had a couple of queer friends. But now I know over 50 people and feel pretty deeply connected to at least 10 of them because we’ve been seeing each other repeatedly at different gatherings. This was my whole hypothesis when I built the Gather app. If we have a mechanism to find each other and more regularly spend time together. Then we can much more quickly build a community where we feel like we belong. Scheduling and commuting and lack of visibility into where people are and what they’re doing puts so much in the way of building community.
