STORY SNIPPET: Amtrak was in my Bucket List! 👊 Started at an Amtrak station near me, so convenient. Took the CA Zephyr from Sacramento to Reno (around 5 hours). Train tickets range: $40 - $75 (varies by booking time). Avail of senior discounts! Surprised at the coach accommodation, overall cleanliness, comfortable seats, and delicious food. 👏🏼 Loved the viewing deck! 😍 Will have to try a longer trip in a roommette. 😌
TRAVEL TIP# 1: On a CA Zephyr train from the West, sit at the right side, going to and back.
TRAVEL TIP # 2: Upon actual boarding, request for seat numbers via yellow tags in order to save them. Amtrak has no seating assignments because people come and go between stations. Then you can go to the viewing deck or wander around. 🤓
TRAVEL TIP # 3: Onboard, book your dining spot for a delicious meal - $25 including drink and dessert. 😋
