SATutorial : RAINBOW Cakes 🌈
So sharing the perfect way of making Rainbow cakes today, it’s not like baking the usual cakes but a little different.
Let’s begin… ❤️
So take your regular vanilla cake batter ( I usually double my recipe) and then divide it in 6 to 7 bowls equally (each to fill 1/4th of your cake tin) Now add all the rainbow colours in the batter individually also flavours as per the colour of you fancy so. Fill the cake tins and tap them well to release all the air trapped as we add in more colour than our usual cakes so they generally have more air bubbles. Now bake them at 150 degrees.
Once done and cooled cling wrap and rest in the refrigerator for overnight (advisable)
✨Trick✨
The trick is to trim all the sides of the cake to allow the colourful sponge to reveal that ways when your clients cut through the cake t the party, they will have a beautiful and colourful 🌈 cake
Tip - Always bake a size bigger than the sponge size that is required and there will be inch loss after trimming 😯😘😊

MOLet's make a rainbow topper 🌈

Here are a few points to remember when making a rainbow topper 👇🏼
(Don't forget to scroll down for my TOP TIPS 😉)
❤️ Use a fondant smoother to roll the sugar paste/fondant into thin "sausages" to avoid fingerprints and to make sure the thickness is the same
🧡 Use a round biscuit cutter as the center to shape the rainbow
💛 Glue the "sausages" nicely together. Make sure they are glued together all the way down. You can use edible glue or water
💚 Cut the side that you want to have on top of the cake first. Use a ruler to measure the length of the other half. Add 1-2cm extra (you can cut this off after you have iced the cake and measured it)
To give an example: My 6" cake is usually 10cm tall. But sometimes (depending on the filling) it can be 10.5cm or 11cm. So better to make it a little bit too long.
🩵 Add rods to the top half and let it dry for 12 hours.
💜 Use a sharp knife to remove it from the board. DON'T try to remove it directly. The fondant will break, and all your hard work will be for nothing!
⭐️My TOP TIP for fondant decorations⭐️
💜 Mix a little tylose powder into the fondant. This helps it dry properly.
💜 Always make your fondant toppers min 12 hours in advance and dry them well.
💜 I dry them at night in the oven with the lights on. The slight heat makes them dry properly, and they are ready for use the next day. If you are in a hurry, you can also dry them for 1 hour on very low heat.
💜 If you are making them many days in advance, remember to store them correctly in an airtight, flat container after drying them.
💜 As most containers have a small bend at the base, I turn the tupperware upside down and use the lid for the fondant toppers. This keeps them 100% flat and easier to remove without risk of breaking later.

Cakes by Vinnie shows us a quick little tutorial on how to make colourful buttercream swirls using piping tip 1G 🌸🌈🌷🫶🏻 multi colored swirls using this easy method: spreading the coloured buttercream side by side on plastic/cling wrap, roll it up, cut off the end, place the rolled buttercream into your prepared piping bag (with the piping tip already inside), and then pipe your beautiful colorful buttercream swirls✨
TIP: after you have rolled up your buttercream (and before placing it in the piping bag), use your fingers to gently press out all the air bubbles. Do this a couple times on all sides. This will help eliminate those annoying air bubbles that pop up as you are piping!
