My team and I aim to educate parents on how to support their baby & toddler’s speech, feeding, and motor development at home! The two babies in this video are 4 months old and 6 months old. While age is important, and the recommendation is to start solids ~6 months of age, it’s equally important to look at baby’s motor skills when determining solids readiness. Why? ➡️A baby who is not stable in the high chair is much less likely to have a good time at meals. ➡️Sitting up independently and head control are extremely important for swallowing safety and choking prevention. ➡️A baby who isn’t reaching out and bringing items to mouth is not likely to self-feed.
