I was actually surprised by what I noticed when I tried the @boncharge_ red light panel. I committed to 25-mins a day and paired it with some gentle stretching and my meditation/vizualization practice and now I’m hooked on this routine. I tuck the kids in at night, go straight to my room, comfy pants on, hair up and panel on. This is my moment to come down from the day and shift from go, go, go to rest, digest. I got so much from this little routine, but what stood out the most... 1. Deeper, more restorative sleep! My oura ring tracked more REM sleep and I woke up more easily in the AM. Taking a moment to down-regulate without blue light in the evening shifts your hormones and sets you up for success the next day. 2. My skin was noticeably more glowy and there was a reduction in redness within a couple of weeks. I try to do it with a tank on as all of your cells absorb light...not just the cells in your eyes. Here’s how to use red light to reverse aging of the eyes. The retina has the highest concentration of mitochondria of any tissue in your body. By age 40, significant decline begins in both your rods — low light vision — and your cones — color contrast. That decline shows up as faded colors, poor night vision, and eyes that just feel tired. Researchers at University College London found that just 3 minutes of 670nm deep red light in the morning produced an average 17% improvement in color contrast vision — and the effects lasted an entire week from a single session. The mechanism is simple: 670nm light recharges the mitochondria in your retinal cells and restores ATP production. Like plugging in a dead battery. This is NOT lasers. NOT 850nm panels. Less is more. Everyone from dermatologists to influencers is wearing them. But do they actually work or are they just an expensive gimmick? Let me show you what the clinical studies actually found. A controlled trial tracked subjects using a red light mask twice per week. After just two weeks, wrinkle depth was down 15.6 percent. The structural thickness of their skin increased by 26.4 percent. Pore size shrank 28.5 percent. And by week four, wrinkles were down 34.7 percent. 100 percent of participants reported significant improvement. And the changes persisted even after they stopped using it. So yes. They work. The science is clear. But here is the problem. Most masks on the market are too weak to do anything. The clinical studies used 20 to 50 milliwatts of power output. Many cheap masks deliver under 5. That is not enough to trigger any response in your skin cells.
