BUCampaigns are about policies and plans. But they’re also about helping people understand who you are and what shapes how you make decisions.
Every elected official brings values into the role. I think it’s important to be open about that—not to convince anyone, but to be clear about what informs how I serve.
For me, Easter informs me.
Not in a theoretical way, but in a practical one.
It holds together two realities we all experience. There are moments when things feel frustrating, slow, or like they’re not working. And then there’s the decision to keep moving forward anyway—to believe things can improve, and to act like that’s true.
That matters when you’re serving in a role like this.
Because many of the challenges we face aren’t easy. Some are complex. Some are long-standing. Some can feel discouraging.
The question isn’t whether those moments exist. It’s how you respond to them.
Serving as mayor, I won’t approach those moments with resignation or avoidance. I’ll approach them with persistence, a focus on people, and a commitment to keep working toward solutions—even when it’s hard.
You don’t have to share my perspective to understand how it shapes my approach.
At the end of the day, this is about hope.
Not the kind that ignores what’s difficult—but the kind that faces it honestly and still chooses to move forward.
