NEHaving so much fun with the @retroidpocket Flip 2! It has a gorgeous 1080p AMOLED screen and the same powerful Snapdragon 865 chip as the Retroid Pocket 5, but with a nostalgic clamshell form factor. There is a slightly cheaper D1100 version, but you’ll miss out on some of the top-end performance.
I was a little skeptical of the ergonomics at first, but it’s actually quite comfortable, even for extended sessions. I would maybe prefer swapping the positions of the right stick and face buttons though.
Unfortunately, some reports of cracked hinges are starting to pop up, but it’s not clear how much of a widespread issue it is. At least for now, Retroid are offering replacements for affected units under warranty. I’ll definitely update if anything happens to mine, but for now I’m taking this thing with me everywhere I go.
