My nervous system kept me in fight or flight and my thoughts kept me locked in the pain. All day. Every day. It wasn’t until I discovered that I was not my thoughts, but was the watcher of my thoughts, that things began to change. I learned how to choose which thoughts to engage with, and which to let move by. The thoughts I paid attention to began to grow, while the others began to fade. I didn’t know it then, but this is science. This is how our brains rewire. This is freedom. When I began to heal my nervous system along side this thought practice, my life opened up again.
