I think boar bristle brushes are a top cause of making the curls clump together ๐Ÿฉท using a wide tooth comb to separate clumps whilst WET can help keep them apart DRY lemme know if you'd like me to create a reel on how you can avoid this!! #curlclumps #curls #ringlet #juicycurls #curlyindian

If you know me then you know I love brush coiling for maximum curl definition. Save for these tips on how to effectively brush coil โฌ‡๏ธโฌ‡๏ธ ๐ŸŒบ If you want to brush coil your entire head it is important firstly to find your parting. If you donโ€™t then you might be creating clumps that are unnatural and therefore, when dried look inconsistent and messy. ๐ŸŒบ I always style on soaking wet hair which has had a little bit of leave-in applied through the mids to the ends. Doing so really helps the pieces that you will hopefully have already separated clump together. ๐ŸŒบ I have mentioned this before but this is easiest achieved through using the brush as a curling wand - most of your hair wants to be wrapped around the wand of the brush with the exception of your ends which will remain in the bristles of the brush, holding the piece of hair to the brush. ๐ŸŒบ Sometimes some pieces just wonโ€™t clump together at all. If I find this happening I will often wet it with more water, or add a tiny bit more leave-in and it usually does the trick. ๐ŸŒบ Before applying gel to each ringlet i will squish out all the excess water from each strand that may be weighing it down. Brush coiling is tricky (it took me awhile to get a good hang of it) but it definitely helps to maximise curl definition and is definitely worth a shot at, even if just for fun! My routine to get from frizz to ringlets โฌ‡๏ธโฌ‡๏ธ ๐Ÿฏ Shampoo and condish - here I used the @sogooditsnoughty wave hello collection. ๐Ÿ“ I then detangle with the @tangleteezer the ultimate detangler to allow for equal application of products. If you need extra slip - detangle when you use a leave-in or curl cream. ๐Ÿฏ My hair has to be soaking wet to style, especially my roots which dry quickest. Iโ€™ll use a spray water bottle to achieve this, mine is from Amazon. ๐Ÿ“ Iโ€™ll then use a leave-in as a light weight curl cream. This works really well for my easily weighed down waves and curls. The leave-in I use here is the @sumilayi 3-in-1. ๐Ÿฏ Once the leave-in is raked through my ends I will take my brush I brush coil each curl clump. If you want volume over definition then do this to a few pieces, not all. ๐Ÿ“To set these I use gels. Iโ€™ll scrunch gel into each of the clumps, making sure they are set in place. The gel I use here is the @umbertogiannini curl jelly. ๐Ÿฏ After I have diffused and my hair is completely dry I will scrunch out the gel cast from each ringlet! And use an oil if my hair feels dry.
