This diamond is one of the most extraordinary creations.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, master artisans in Persia developed techniques to produce exceptionally flat, perfectly symmetrical rose cuts — a remarkable achievement by any standard.
These stones are exceedingly rare today and collected across the world. What makes them even more compelling is that the exact methods used to create them have largely been lost.
Even with modern technology, we are unable to faithfully replicate them.
It was likely cut entirely by hand, slowly and meticulously, on manually driven polishing wheels.
The level of skill is difficult to comprehend.
