THChungin “Roy” Lee is a South Korean–American tech entrepreneur and internet personality, best known as the founder of Cluely. He gained major attention in 2025 after his AI startup went viral for its bold “cheat on everything” marketing, sparking debates about ethics, education, and the future of work.
Lee moved to the U.S. at age three. His path to tech fame includes several controversies: he reportedly lost a Harvard admission due to a disciplinary issue, was later suspended from Columbia University after creating an AI tool for coding interviews, and had an Amazon internship offer revoked for using that tool during the interview.
After leaving Columbia, Lee co-founded Cluely with Neel Shanmugam and Alex Chen. The app provides real-time, AI-powered suggestions during meetings, interviews, and exams. Its controversial branding helped it go viral, quickly growing to tens of thousands of users and generating millions in revenue within months of its 2025 launch.
