Le Cameron Falls, situate nel Parco Nazionale Waterton in Alberta, vivono questo straordinario cambiamento solo dopo piogge particolarmente intense. È un evento talmente raro che molti visitatori tornano per anni senza mai riuscire a vederlo. Durante forti temporali, l'acqua trascina con sé un sedimento rosso chiamato argillite dalla vicina Ruby Ridge. Questa roccia sedimentaria, ricca di ferro ossidato, colora temporaneamente il torrente e le cascate di un sorprendente rosa. Una fotografa, Rochelle Coffey, ha visitato le cascate per sei anni prima di riuscire finalmente a documentare questo fenomeno. Quando è accaduto, lei e suo marito hanno atteso pazientemente due ore per vedere l'acqua colorata raggiungere le cascate, creando uno spettacolo che persino i locali consideravano di intensità mai vista prima. La trasformazione dura solo alcune ore dopo la pioggia, rendendo questo camaleonte naturale ancora più affascinante.
