After almost two decades of providing us with music that makes us anything but panic at the disco, front man Brendon Urie has announced that Panic! At The Disco will “be no more”.
“I’ve sat here trying to come up with the perfect way to say this and I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us,” he wrote in a statement released on Instagram. “Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you.”
The singer sure knows how to deliver bad news though. He coupled the message of an end with a new beginning — Urie and his wife of 10 years Sarah are expecting their first child. Sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure,” he added.
Panic! At The Disco started off as a rock band, formed in 2004 by childhood friends Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith and Brent Wilson. It turned into Urie’s solo project later on.
