In questa scena iconica, un anziano Antonio Salieri si rende conto della sua più tragica maledizione: le sue opere sono state dimenticate dal mondo, mentre la musica del suo odiato nemico, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, è diventata immortale. La frustrazione palpabile sul volto di F. Murray Abraham quando il prete riconosce con entusiasmo la celebre melodia (Eine kleine Nachtmusik), scambiandola per una sua composizione, è pura arte recitativa. Una curiosità affascinante dietro questa magistrale interpretazione (che gli valse il Premio Oscar come Miglior Attore Protagonista) è che F.
