SBOn 7/11/25 at 2pm the Fontana Sheriff’s Station was involved in a vehicle pursuit of a white male juvenile on a black Surron e-bike in the area of the I-15 and Sierra Ave. The rider ran several red lights and rode into oncoming traffic at speeds over 50mph, before escaping through the road closure barricades on Coyote Canyon Rd. in Hunter’s Ridge. The rider was part of a group of 15 e-bike riders who were recklessly riding up Riverside Ave. before the pursuit started. Based on the reckless driving during the pursuit the rider was wanted for felony evading charges.
Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation and learned the same group was involved in a reckless driving and evading law enforcement incident in the city of Rancho Cucamonga on 07/12/25. Detectives collected videos and social media posts identifying several participants involved in both incidents.
On 7/14/25 Fontana Sheriff’s Detectives served search warrants in Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana related to the felony evading case from 7/11/25. As a result of the investigation the rider was identified as a 14-year-old resident of Fontana. The juvenile was arrested and the Surron e-bike was impounded. The investigation is ongoing, and additional warrants will be served related to the other participants at a later date. #community #sbcsd #sanbernardinocountysheriffs #fontanastation #lawenforcement #youth #ranchocucamonga
