A student may qualify when a coordination, attention, or self regulation difficulty is impacting their ability to participate in academic tasks or classroom routines.
In the school, setting needs must be tied back to educational access, such as difficulty with:
- completing written work
- sustained attention during instruction
- managing classroom materials
- participating in classroom routines
- self-regulation that affects learning
School-based OT focuses on supporting participation in the learning environment.
