RUHow to write a book👇
1. The idea - use Pinterest or writing prompts to get you that one idea - this is the premise your book will be based off of - it doesn’t have to be a completed story yet, just one idea and it could be anything
2. Starting - some people like to plan their plot, others like to just start writing and see what happens - either way works well - if you like plotting then try to write down everything you want to happen but remember that this can always change; you are not bound by your plan
3. Decide the voice - whose perspective are you telling this story from? This will affect how you write - try to write within the personality of this person - or if it’s a third person narrator make sure it’s clear who the main character(s) are - the reader follows this person through their journey
4. The catalyst - an event that occurs near the beginning of the book that sets off the whole chain of events which leads your main character(s) to the climax - maybe it’s the declaration of a goal they want to achieve, maybe someone has been captured and they have to rescue them - make sure something happens within the first two chapters that furthers the story
5. The climax - this is the most important moment in your book - it is what everything leads up to and everything that happens after stems from it - this can be a death or a battle or a realisation - think about how you get to it from the catalyst - what challenges your characters might face, what relationships might be formed - this journey should not be linear - there should be set backs and side quests
6. Character development and subplots - these are the secondary parts of your book after the main plot but equally as important - make sure your characters have multiple ties to others and your subplots are well integrated; don’t make them separate from the main plot and make sure they contribute to the conclusion
This is your first draft, don’t worry about editing as you go, just write - eventually it will feel natural 📚
