I didn’t know it was this bad 👇🏻 In the USA alone, TSA says passengers ‘lose’ over 100,000 items at checkpoints every single month - phones, laptops, wallets, you name it. That is more than a million things a year disappearing between those gray bins and the end of the belt. And the scariest part?… 📱Almost half of that isn’t lost, it’s taken! At big airports like Los Angeles, about 4 out of 10 phones reported “lost” at security are actually stolen. Not misplaced. Stolen. Security is where you are rushed, distracted, and separated from your stuff - which makes it the easiest place for things to quietly disappear. Here’s how to stop being an easy target at security 👇 ✅ Keep valuables zipped, not loose Put your phone, passport, wallet, and AirPods inside a zipped pocket in your backpack or personal item before you get in line. Do not toss them loose in the tray where anyone can grab them. ✅ Send boring stuff first, valuables last Shoes, jacket, empty tote bag go on the belt first. Your bag with valuables goes on last, right before you walk through the scanner. That way your most important stuff comes out when you’re already on the other side watching the belt, not sitting alone while you’re still in line. ✅ If you’re with someone, use the buddy system One person goes through the scanner first and waits right at the belt to grab bags. The second person loads the bins. At no point are your things on the belt with nobody watching them. ✅ Don’t rush off until you’ve accounted for everything This is where thieves and simple loss both win. Ignore your notifications, step to the side, and quickly check: phone, passport, wallet, laptop, bag zippers closed. A 20 second pause here is better than spending your layover trying to file a claim. 🧳Always feel like you packed too much stuff? Touchless ID is the biggest change to security since TSAPreCheck… it’s quiet upgrade no one’s talking about ✈️ If you have TSA PreCheck, you can skip pulling out your ID at select airports and breeze through security using facial recognition instead. Faster line. Fewer fumbling pockets. No handing over your license. Here’s how to opt in (it takes 2 minutes): Step 1️⃣ — Make sure you’re eligible • TSA PreCheck • A valid passport uploaded to your airline profile • Your Known Traveler Number (KTN) saved to your reservation Step 2️⃣ — Opt in through your airline app ✈️ American Airlines • Open the AAdvantage app • Profile → Personal Information • Add/confirm passport + KTN • Turn on Biometric / Touchless ID ✈️ Delta • Open the Fly Delta app • Profile → Secure Traveler • Add passport + KTN • Enable Delta Digital ID (this is key) ✈️ United • Open the United app • Profile → About Me • Add passport + KTN • Opt in to Biometric ID Step 3️⃣ — At the airport • Look for “Touchless ID” or “Digital ID” lanes • Stand on the marker • Quick face scan • You’re through 🚀 No wallet. No phone. No boarding pass. Once you use it, going back feels prehistoric. #TSAPreCheck #TouchlessID #DigitalID #FrequentFlyer #AirportHacks TravelSmart UnitedAirlines DeltaAirLines AmericanAirlines SkipTheLine TravelTips BusinessTravel InFrontOfTheWing

What NOT to Pack If You Want to Breeze Through Airport Security Airport security is WAY faster when you pack strategically. Most delays? Self-inflicted. You’re in line. Shoes off. Laptop out. Bag flagged. Meanwhile the person next to you walks straight through 😅 Difference = packing choices. Many travelers unknowingly pack items that: • Trigger extra screening • Slow down the line • Get bags searched • Cause unnecessary stress before a flight Especially on international trips. Security scanners flag density, liquids, and clutter — not just “dangerous” items. Overpacked, messy carry-ons = higher chance of inspection. What NOT to Pack (If You Want Smooth Security) 🧴 1. Oversized Liquids (Obvious but Still No. 1) Anything over 3.4 oz (100ml) in carry-on = instant flag. Even half-full large bottles can get pulled. (This has happened to me like 4 times 🤦‍♂️) 💻 2. Loose Electronics Everywhere Multiple tablets, cords, power banks scattered = bag inspection magnet. Pro move: keep electronics in one pouch. 🍱 3. Dense Food Items Yes, food can trigger bag checks. Especially: • Wrapped meals • Dense snacks • Spreads/sauces They show up as unusual masses on scanners. 🧲 4. Metal-Heavy Items Think: • Bulky belts • Large jewelry • Packed metal accessories More metal = more secondary screening. 🧴 5. Unorganized Toiletry Bags Messy liquid bags slow EVERYTHING down if they need to inspect them. Clear pouch = elite traveler move. ✈️ 6. Bonus Smart Traveler Tip Wear your heaviest items (hoodie, jacket, sneakers) instead of packing them. Less bag density = smoother screening. The Result Faster security. Less stress. More time at the gate (or lounge 😎) Exactly how experienced travelers move. Save this before your next flight ✈️ What’s the ONE item security always flags for you? 👇 #airportsecurity #airportsecuritytips #travelsavvy #smarttravel #travelhacks
#Security Level Reel by @nick.nobias - 1. Airport security screeners tracking theft patterns found phones are the most frequently stolen items at security checkpoints. Of 90,000 items lost

@nick.nobias
1. Airport security screeners tracking theft patterns found phones are the most frequently stolen items at security checkpoints. Of 90,000 items lost or stolen at airports monthly, the majority are phones placed loose in bins. The problem: your phone goes through the scanner before you do. While you’re removing shoes, belt, walking through metal detector, your phone sits unguarded on the other side. Thieves work in pairs: one delays you, the other grabs your bin. ‎ 2. Here’s how the theft happens: you place phone loose in bin as many travelers do. Bin goes through scanner. You’re held up at metal detector for random check or deliberate distraction. Your phone emerges on the belt. Their partner grabs it and walks toward gates. By the time you clear security and notice it’s missing, they’re gone. TSA sees this daily but won’t announce it loudly because admitting theft at checkpoints makes security look incompetent. ‎ 3. TSA agents’ actual advice that most travelers never hear: put phone in a bag or closed pocket on bag before it goes through scanner. Never place it loose in bin. Stay with your bags as long as possible and watch them enter the scanner. The few seconds between your bag entering and you clearing the detector are the theft window. ‎ 4. Airports won’t emphasize this because it reveals security theater can’t prevent basic theft. They’d rather you think “lost” phones are your carelessness than admit professional thieves operate freely in secured areas. Your phone isn’t lost. It was taken while you followed their instructions to place everything in open bins. ‎ 5. You’ve probably placed your phone loose in bins thinking it’s required. It’s not. You can keep it secured in bags. The difference between travelers who lose phones and those who don’t is knowing TSA’s official procedure isn’t the safest procedure. 👉 [LINK IN BIO]: The 21-day protocol to exit the survival loop and reset your baseline.

😣 It happens much more than you probably think. TSA estimates that about 100,000 items are “lost” at security checkpoints every month. That’s over a million per year. And many of these items are stolen, not lost. Security checkpoints are busy places where people are often rushed and distracted, and people take advantage of that. Here are the best ways to prevent your things from being taken: ✳️ Keep everything in a bag— not loose. Small things like phones, wallets, passports, electronics should never be loose in the bin. Put everything inside a bag. ✳️ Watch your items go through scanner. Don’t take your eyes off your bags until they go through the scanner. And watch for them to come out. ✳️ Keep all of your belongings together. If your items have to go in multiple bins, make sure the bins are together so it’s easier to watch them all. ✳️ Work with your travel partner if you have one. Let one person go through first while the other person stays back to watch everything go into the scanner. Then there’s someone on both sides watching. ✳️ Take inventory before leaving Once you collect your things, check to make sure you have everything before leaving the area. ✳️ Always be organized. Bags that are well-organized, with every item having a place, are much easier to keep up with. Wanna know how I pack my bags to stay organized and prevent any “losses?” Comment “PACK” and I’ll send you my FREE Packing Guide that shows you how we pack for all our trips. If you have TSA PreCheck — don’t miss this little travel hack! 🚨✈️ I flew right past a massive airport line while traveling to Italy just by updating one setting in my airline app (took maybe 2 minutes). There’s a newer feature called Touchless ID with Delta, United, Southwest, and American — but it’s not automatic. You have to opt in inside your app before you travel. Once you do, you can use the Touchless lane at security — no pulling out your ID, no scanning your boarding pass. Just a quick face scan and you’re through. 🙌 Do yourself a favor and check your app settings now so your next airport day is smooth and stress-free! #TravelTips #AirportHacks #TSAPreCheck #TravelSmarter #BeyondHorizonsTravel ✈️

You don’t need a boarding pass to get through TSA. True story. My brother forgot his phone. I had about 20 minutes before his flight. I went straight to the airline counter, explained the situation, showed my ID, and they issued me a gate pass so I could go through airport security without a ticket. If you’re a 40+ traveler who likes to plan your own trips, this is the kind of real-world travel tip that lowers stress fast. Airport security isn’t always as rigid as we think. Gate passes are still a thing. And sometimes the “emergency” is handled in five calm minutes at the counter. DIY travel doesn’t mean you have to know everything. It means you know how to solve problems when they pop up. Save this for your next airport run.
