😮 What the sewing industry doesn’t tell you about sergers… I might upset a few people (and major companies) by saying this—but sergers are often sold without real support, and that leaves owners feeling lost, confused, and convinced the machine is “too advanced” for them. You’re handed a box. A manual that barely helps. And then you’re expected to just…figure it out. That’s not a you problem. That’s an education problem. Here’s what rarely gets said: • Sergers are sold faster than they’re explained • Most owners are never shown where to begin • Threading isn’t hard—it’s just poorly taught • Tension issues usually come from one small missing step • Sergers aren’t meant to be learned all at once • Fear around sergers is incredibly common • Confusion doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong • Sergers aren’t just for finishing seams • Confidence comes from understanding, not speed In 2025, I helped tens of thousands of serger owners finally break free from that fear.
