FA【「SETCHU」ショー前に語る桑田の想い】
ピッティ ゲストデザイナーとして2025年秋冬コレクションを初のランウェイ形式で発表した日本人デザイナー桑田悟史 率いる「SETCHU（セッチュウ）」。
1月16日 アルノ川沿いに建つフィレンツェ国立中央図書館にて、ヴァイオリンの旋律が鳴り響く中で桑田本人が"最初で最後"と語るランウェイショーが始まった。
リール動画では、ショー前の事前インタビューと、ショーの様子を交えて紹介。
サヴィル・ロウの老舗テーラーでの経験を持つ彼が常に考えている「服とはなんなのか？」という問いかけと、日本人であるというアイデンティティについて語る。
2025年秋冬シーズンのテーマは、「I WANT LESS, AND LESS THAN THAT（より少なく、そしてそれよりさらに少なく）」。
正方形をデザインの基盤として考えた今回。
一枚の折り紙から着想を得て制作することをブランドの背骨とし、『折り紙プリーツ』といった折り目をつけ、名前のとおり折り紙を折るように服を収納することができる。
モーニングスーツやテイルジャケットなどすべて折り紙構造で制作されている。
シャツのバリエーションも多彩。一見よくみる形のカラーシャツでも、人がよく目を運ぶ袖口に特徴的なカットを入れることで、袖に遊びを加えた。思わずそれを見つけた時に「あっ！」と思わせる。そんな小さな工夫が人の心を大きく動かす。
また斜めに配置したシャツのボタンに、襟元から布をカーテンの様に下に垂らすことで、服に新たな動きとボリュームを与えたものも登場。
カラーパレットは、黒、白、灰色が中心であり、重厚感がある見た目だが、実際に持ってみると見た目より軽い印象。
エジプトで発見された男性の同性愛者の埋葬物を現地で実際にみた桑田が、そのストーリーを日本が誇るラブストーリー「源氏物語」に置き換えることができないかと構想。
男性も女性もエロティシズムを重要視していきたいとインタビューで語った。
また釣りが大の趣味と語る彼。その際にタコの死骸がペニスの形にみえたという体験から、ペニスのモチーフをレースドレスに施した。
