NNI made mistakes so you don’t have to 🤎 here’s the breakdown:
1. I learned to leave enough space in the leave out area to add at least 1 row of short clip-in wefts on both sides. If you add clips ins on your braid down only, then release your leave out to cover the tracks, the top will be bulky, and the tracks will definitely show. I’ve demonstrated the proper way to install clip-ins on a braid down in a previous reel (using the expresso brown clip ins)
2. If your hair isn’t layered, don’t use a large barrel curling iron (1.5” and above) + velcro. I know it seems like common sense but I didn’t expect the curls to drop sooo much. I added the velcro for volume but the size I used was too big, which loosened the curls.
3. I shouldn’t have even added velcro rollers. Why did I to begin with? Because I wanted to add just a hint of volume while maintaining the curl (kind of like pin curls but with volume). I would only use Velcro rollers as a way to maintain volume and body, not really to maintain or create a curl. I could have used smaller rollers, but honestly, pin curls will always be a better either way.
