Wash your left hand Pour water over your left hand to cleanse it. 3. Switch hands Hold the ladle in your left hand and wash your right hand. 4. Cleanse your mouth (optional but traditional) • Pour a little water into your left hand (not directly into your mouth). • Gently rinse your mouth and spit the water beside the basin (not back into it). 5. Rinse the ladle handle Tilt the ladle upright so remaining water runs down the handle, purifying it for the next person. 6.
