ASThis is a hard one to hear because it’s a reality we don’t like to talk about.
Children learn from their parents… and when one of those parents is narcissistic, sometimes your child can start to develop these patterns too.
Here are some warning signs it’s happening:
1️⃣ They turn boundaries into an attack
You say no… suddenly you’re “selfish” or “a bad parent.”
2️⃣ They rewrite the story to avoid responsibility
Nothing is ever their fault — the story always changes to suit them.
3️⃣ They only show warmth when they need something
Kindness and connection appears right before they ask for something.
4️⃣ They act entitled with very little empathy
Expecting your time, money, and energy with very little concern for your limits, capacity or the needs of other siblings.
These warning signs matter when they become a pattern of behaviour, not just a phase.
As much as we’d love it to… love doesn’t fix this.
