These bottles are then sent for recycling, and in return, students receive free meals. The idea is simple but powerful. Teach children that waste has value, and they grow up respecting the planet. It was heartbreaking to realize that the students did not carry any consciously chosen sustainable products with them—but that’s okay. What matters is that we were able to create awareness. They already carry their tiffin boxes and water bottles; they just didn’t realize at that moment that these are reusable and sustainable choices. That realization itself is a big first step. The students also shared valuable insights on what can be reduced, and we truly hope they take those thoughts forward and begin reducing the use of such items in their daily lives.
