THDAY 15: PHOTOGENIC BOOTCAMP 📸 Here’s my favorite hack for getting the perfect smize in photos! Most people don’t realize how big of an impact posing your eyes can make within your photo. Smizing makes us look warmer, happier, and more engaged, and while everyone should be smizing— this hack is especially helpful if you feel like your eyes look a bit lifeless, creepy, or like you have a deer in the headlights expression when you smile.
❓WHAT’S A SMIZE?❓
“Smizing” is a term coined by Tyra Banks in the early 2000’s that means “smile with your eyes.”
⚠️WARNING⚠️
Perfecting your smile isn’t an easy feat! Everyone’s face is shaped differently, and we all have a different range of motion within our facial muscles. If this doesn’t work on the first try, that’s completely normal! Practice to find what works best for you.
✅THE HACK✅
Pretend you’re scanning an aisle at the grocery store looking for a specific kind of cereal. Notice the way your eyes become more focused and your eyelids hold tension. That’s a smize!
❗WHAT IF I LOOK TOO INTENSE?❗
Try focusing your eyes, looking up, then looking at the camera. That should correct this.
