If you need to save space- TRY THIS! I completely ran out of room in my indoor setup and 100% could not have fit 30 more soil blocks… so I took a risk and tried the snail seeding method, and it was a success! 🌱 I was amazed by how healthy the roots were. I’ll definitely be doing this again. I dunked each flower into our MycoRoots and Instant Compost Tea for the best start before planting them in their new home. 🌸 Thank you to @faridasober for the inspiration! 💚🌱 #gardeninghacks #spacesaving #roothealth #MycoRoots #InstantCompostTea #organicgarden #organic #organicgardening #epicgardening #snailmethod #snailseedstarting #snail

Seed Snail tutorial 🐌 I’ve been starting seeds indoors for 25years now and I’ve learned so much along the way. One thing I know for sure is – this method is great because it promotes long root systems & plants don’t get root bound like they often do in seed trays. And!! If your seedling grow large & need more soil, you can just unroll the snail, add more soil & roll it back up again. No high maintenance repotting necessary 🙌 Other things I love about this method? They take up very little space! I’ll be starting more seed snails every weekend for the next month. I’m growing all my fav hard-to-find perennials, flowers & veggies - I even have a Seed Snail moist/cold stratifying in my fridge currently ❄️ And finally – this method requires no plastic! I’m using inexpensive butchers paper because its moisture resistant ( but not impervious) with some old dinner plates as the trays. I do find I have to spray the seed snails more often than I did with plastic trays, but once the seedling emerge you can start watering from below which is much easier. Of course - if you have seed trays already you can keep using them until they fail. Any plastic kitchen container with some hole poked in the bottom works too – but you definitely don’t need to purchase any new plastic containers to become a seeding Queen or King. You could also try soil blocking! Let’s be good to our Mother 🌍 Are you planning on stepping up your home-grown veggie & flower garden game this year? I was so skeptical on this method tbh. But after our first batch of seeds all grew mold we had to try something different. Can honestly say the viral snail seeding method is golden! It reduces waste and saves on space. All you need is a cardboard, paper, felt or foam strips. We chose to go with foam strips. Cut your material into strips. Fill each strip with a thin layer of soil, place seeds along the top edge, roll and place upright, and secure with twine or tape. And water as needed! Let me know if yall want a more detailed tutorial. . . . #gardeningtips #seedsnailmethod #atlantainfluencer

I’m trying out the seed snail method for growing peas this year 🫛🐌. The idea is simple: you lay a strip of soil, place the peas on top, and roll it up. This method is mainly used to save space, and it’s also great for the roots, they get more room to grow and don’t become container-bound like in regular pots. It’s a fun and interesting way to start seeds, different from the usual trays or pots. If you like trying something new in your garden, this could be a neat little project. I grow peas in a different ways, so I’m curious to see how this snail method will turn out, it’s my first year trying it! #SeedSnail #peas #gardeningtips

The most sustainable option is using what you already have at home.

Keep it simple.

Have you heard about this method of starting seeds known as snail seed sowing methods? It looks incredibly awesome. It is super space saving and seems to produce super healthy seedlings. You can do this with bubble wrap, rice bag, cement bag, etc. You just need some wraps, good seed starting mix, your seeds and trays, or plastic containers. Just wanted to demonstrate how the snail seeding method worked for me at transplant time. These bell pepper seedlings grew in nicely with strong roots. I left behind the smaller ones to plant later. 6 plants in, a million more to go. 😅 Have you seen this seed starting method or tried it yourself? #gardening #myhappyplace #growyourownfood #plants #peppers #snailseeding #garden #zone8b #containergardening

RIP Cardboard Seed Snail 🪦🌱🐌 I almost knew this would happen But I hoped really hard it wouldn’t When the soil gets smelly, it usually means it’s too wet for too long and you run the risk of the roots ROTTING 😵 Not good. So I had to intervene. This likely happened not because I was over watering, but because the cardboard wasn’t drying out so the soil was constantly wet. Sorry 🫣 EDIT: no, I did not double check captions picked up the correct spelling of ‘sowed/sewed’ before uploading. Before t’ord grammar nazis start piping up
