Home decisions from someone who followed her heart, not trends. 🤍 While planning our home interiors, I realised that sometimes keeping things simple makes a space feel calmer, lighter, and more timeless.🩵 Here are a few interior trends we personally chose to avoid while designing our home: 1️⃣. Heavy false ceilings everywhere – We do have a false ceiling, but we kept it plain and minimal, so layered lighting can stand out without making the ceiling feel heavy. 2️⃣. Too many wall panels – Panels can look beautiful in one focal area, but covering too many walls can create visual clutter and unnecessary cost. Simple walls often feel more elegant. 3️⃣. Harsh white tube lights (6500K) – We prefer warm layered lighting, which instantly makes a home feel softer and more inviting. 4️⃣. Perfectly matching sofa sets – Homes feel more natural when seating is mixed and relaxed, instead of everything matching perfectly. Sometimes the most beautiful homes are the ones that don’t try too hard. This is Part 2 of my series: Honest home decisions from a non-designer.
