Stop losing marks in Electrochemistry If you think n-factor = n in −nFE°cell, that’s your mistake. In ΔG° = −nFE°cell# n = TOTAL electrons exchanged in the balanced reaction ❌ Not n-factor of one species 2Fe³⁺ + 2I⁻ → 2Fe²⁺ + I₂ Total electron change = 2 One wrong “n” And your entire answer is gone. Understand. Don’t memorise. #Electrochemistry #NFactor #neetprep2026 #jeeprep2026

Highest reduction potential = Strongest oxidizing agent. But wait… it’s NOT always F₂. If you check Appendix III at the back of NCERT, you’ll find this half-reaction: H₄XeO₆ + 2H⁺ + 2e⁻ → XeO₃ + 3H₂O E° = +3.0 V That’s even HIGHER than F₂/F⁻ ( +2.87 V ). Which means in acidic medium, Perxenic acid / Perxenate ions (XeO₆⁴⁻) can act as a stronger oxidizing agent than Fluorine. Electrochemistry is about checking the table — not memorizing trends. Open the appendix. Think deeper. #Electrochemistry #NCERT #neetprep2026 #jeeadvanced2026 #RedoxReactions

🚨 The trap 90% of students fall into! 🚨 You learn the basic trend: “Left to Right = Ionization Energy Increases.” So Oxygen > Nitrogen, right? ❌ WRONG. Chemistry loves exceptions, and examiners LOVE testing you on them. It all comes down to the hidden stability of half-filled p-orbitals. 🧠💥 Save this before your next mock test! 👇 HOMEWORK TIME: Apply what you just learned. Which has a higher I.E.: Beryllium (Be) or Boron (B)? Drop your answer and your reason in the comments! (Hint: Think about the penetration effect 👀) I’ll pin the first perfect explanation. 📌 #chemistry #jeemains #neetpreparation #chemistrynotes
