BI1927 yılında çekilen üstteki ünlü fotoğraf, asrın en büyük dehalarını tek bir karede toplayan 5. Solvay Fizik Konferansı’nda çekildi. Şimdiye kadar bir araya getirilmiş en zeki insanlar olarak adlandırılan fotoğraftaki bilim insanlarından 17’si Nobel Ödülü sahibidir.
Tam 90 yıl sonra 14 Eylül 2017 tarihinde ise roller tersine çevrildi ve İtalyan Fizik Derneği’nin Trento’da kadınların fizikteki yeri konulu oturumundan sonra bu fotoğraf çekildi. Fotoğrafta bu sefer 28 kadın ve tek bir erkek yer alıyor.
Marie Curie’nin zamanından bu yana fizikte kadınların temsili ve kariyerleri konusunda önemli ilerlemeler kaydedildi. Fakat, kadınlara daha fazla görünürlük kazandırmak için yapılacak çok daha fazla şey var. Bu da Trento’daki İtalyan Fizik Derneği konferansının konularından biriydi. @bilimtuel

🇬🇧The famous photograph above, taken in 1927, captured the 5th Solvay Physics Conference, bringing together some of the century’s greatest geniuses in a single frame. Described as the most brilliant minds ever assembled, 17 of the scientists in the photo are Nobel Prize winners.
Exactly 90 years later, on September 14, 2017, the roles were reversed, and this photograph was taken after a session of the Italian Physical Society in Trento on the role of women in physics. This time, the photo features 28 women and one man. Significant progress has been made in the representation and careers of women in physics since Marie Curie’s time. However, much more needs to be done to increase women’s visibility. This was one of the topics discussed at the Italian Physical Society conference in Trento.
